Hook Rate

The share of people who stop and watch the first 3 seconds of your video ad.

Hook rate measures whether your opening earns attention in a scrolling feed. It's the first gate of performance creative — if the hook fails, nothing downstream matters.

Example: 45,000 three-second views ÷ 300,000 impressions × 100 = 15% hook rate. Test openings relentlessly; the first second does most of the work.
